I recently repaired a set of Henckels knives for a customer. The handles had become badly cracked, and chunks were coming off.
It was an interesting project and the interior construction of the tang, with its curves and a ridge running down the centre, presented some challenges that you don’t find with a typical full-tang construction. However, I was happy with the results.
Henckels are good quality knives and are worth repairing. Even if the handles are beyond repair (like these), the steel blades are top quality and it’s well worth it to put new handles on them.
Today’s post will feature some before and after pictures I took of the knives.
