I’ve been making knives since 2016.
At the time I was working in IT and spent my days sitting on my rear in front of a computer, and I realized that I badly needed a hobby that got me outside, and doing something physical working with my hands.
No, I was NOT inspired by the show ‘Forged in Fire’
I was inspired to make knives because I wanted to make useful tools for the home and kitchen that are also works of art. I’ve always loved art and the creative process. I went to trade school as a teenager and took pottery, and ran my own pottery shop for a few years. I’ve also done a lot of ink drawings, and even earned a bit of money at it, selling ink drawings on the street as a kid.
So looking for an artistic hobby came naturally to me, and thought it would be an interesting challenge to make kitchen tools that are not only functional, but artistic as well.
I didn’t even know that knife making was a thing, and I’d never heard of the reality TV show ‘Forged in Fire’, until a couple years after I was making knives.
I love to make functional works of art
What started out as a casual hobby in 2016 has grown into a thriving small business.
I believe knives should be beautiful as well as a pleasure to use. Each knife is an original, individually handcrafted one at a time, that will make for a unique and very special gift for the foody in your life, or maybe even for yourself!
